  1. wow. first to post?

I missed the first 10 minutes last night so thank goodness for jay and jack!

oh, and i’m next onto the island – I have a powerball ticket with 3 of the numbers (4, 16, 42). kinda scared if I do win!

  2. H-Irish-K says:

Thanks, Jay! You guys are awesome!

  3. Nicole says:

If it is in anyone’s head, I think it would be in Libby’s. No real reason for this, that was just my first reaction.

  4. Twentyfour says:

The klonpin (brand name version of clonazepam) that Hurley was taking was WAY TO FRIGGIN BIG to be the actual pill. Yeah, this is nit-picky but I TAKE that pill and have for awhile (for anxiety…I don’t see any bald guys…oh hey Mike)… but the pills are way smaller. It can be used to treat schizophrenia, but it’s also mildly addictive. Didn’t think it was likely for him to be treated by klonopin… but oh well. When they announced the drug I went “Hey! I take that!” My own little cameo in Lost. Hee-hee.

Episode disturbed be a little and the beginning was set up like “Girl, Interrupted.” And you’re correct. They’re not called cells. They are rooms. Regular rooms.

  5. Twentyfour says:

And Libby STILL could be a therapist (or even an other). A lot of people who have been “mental health consumers” are driven into helping others in the therapist/case worker world. It’s possible that Libby got better, went through a 2 year MA program, started working…. and possibly getting recruited by Dharma?…

She still could be following Hurley…but…yeah. There you go.

  6. Nolan G. says:

Did anyon else notice Libby’s look when walking off with hurley?? She had the same look as henry gale… like she was lying!! Can we get a screenshot! SHE’S DARMA!!!!!!!!!!

  7. ralph says:

i believe that libby is studying patients in their own enviornment! The pills she was given was nothing more than a placebo. i’m sticking to it!

  8. P-D says:

What’s the deal? I can’t figure out how to listen to the “Dave” podcast. Can someone please help me with this? It would be greatly appreciated.

  9. Vic, Dominican Republic says:

    Hey guys, Love the podcast.

I know what you’re thinking… Libby is crazy. Well, hate to tell you, she IS a psychiatrist. What was she doing there?? She was doing research while posing as a patient.

Please send me my tally trophy as soon as possible

    Vic, Dominican Republic

  10. Nolan G. says:

come on guys no one else saw the look she gave after walking away from the hill top?!?!?!

  11. ToddinSanDiego says:

    Hey Everybody,
Is it just me, or was your favorite line from last night when Kate said to sawyer “you look like you got your ass kicked!” (or something like that). Poor Hurley, he’s still my favorite, Im glad he didnt jump like Dave told him to!
Im goona watch it again to see the look Libby gave Hurley, you guys have got me wondering about her!

  12. ToddinSanDiego says:

Ok, I know we,ve all hear Jay & Jack talk about how Lost is affecting our lives when we watch TV and other stuff. But, I went to Signonsandiego.com (the local San Diego online newspaper) and the first headline was: “LIBBY: BUSH OK’D LEAK” yikes! now Lost is affecting the presidency! I think Dharma is bigger than we thought! (ok just kidding, but it was weird to see that right after reading Jay & Jacks Website- the first thing I do every Thursday and Tuesday morning) only six more days until the new episode SOS!!!

  13. Brian M. says:

I’m curious as to why the top of Locke’s discovered map was not shown in last week’s “Lockdown.” Is there more to it that’s out of frame? Could Jack’s underwater hatch be just out of view?! Just a thought.

  14. btamayo says:

    Hi LostCasts’ers,

I had a few theories after watching the newest episode. A group of people here at where I work always gather the Thursday after to talk up our theories I’ve recommended your podcasts to everyone I know that watches, great job by the way!

Anyways here are a few theories that my friends and I have came up with…

While a few of us were looking around to hope to see Libby in Hurleys conversation with Dave at the mental hospital which we then confirmed her at the end. I was actually looking at they guy who kept speaking the numbers. I know they’ve talked a bit about him, but I don’t really know much about him. Wasn’t he and someone else in a boat or something or were in the military/government expedition? We don’t know much about him, and in the scene we were all so exposed to Dave and Hurley’s conversation, but have we ever seen or heard any type of interaction with him? I couldn’t help but wonder if the man repeating the numbers was the “Henry Gale” character? As Hurley would probably recognize him, Hurley himself as far as I know doesn’t know anything about Henry Gale, because he has been “out of the loop”. The numbers guy has glasses and is all scruffy and sort of resembled the Henry Gale character, but It was hard to tell?

Another thing, Hurley’s accident killed two people? Maybe the reason Libby hasn’t told Hurley about how she was in the mental institute because her husband was one of the people killed in Hurley’s accident and she was in there for depression and maybe sucide watch? She sure looked to have a keen interest in Hurley in the cafeteria! With Hurley experiencing serious mental problems it would be likely of her to expose herself as also having a case of mental history, to comfort him. This would be more likely if she “supposedly” loves him? This could just be a way to get close to him to spike revenge?

She definitely remembers him, but for maybe it could be this reason that she hasn’t told him? There were many more theories, but this was all I had time to type up!

    Great podcast!

  15. Rex says:

I heard you guys said you didn’t like onion. That reminds me of another podcast: http://www.nobodylikesonions.com/nlo/

  16. Ian Miller says:

dont know if anyone else noticed, but all of the “numbers” are hall-of-fame yankee numbers

  17. Scott from Boston says:

i know this isn’t related to the great Dave episode last night but….
why are the washer and dryer in the hatch so new? they are the only new things really in the hatch. just a thought.

  18. oh, and jay/jack – noone has mentioned that the food drop could have actually come from underground. Think about it – there are obvioously tunnels somewhere there, like what the smoke “munster” travels in. So the dharma guys get a pallet of food, transport it underground, and raise it up through a hidden hatch, then plant a parachute to make it LOOK like it was dropped from a plane. So if people are locked in the middle of the hatch, they wouldn’t know that there were no other planes involved.

  19. rubycalaber says:

Libby is actually hotter as a mental patient, ironicly.

  20. Hey Jay said something about the hatches being connected. Can I get a Tally since I theorized in my EM theory that the Swan and Arrow Hatches were connected? Hehe anyway, great podcast guys as usual. One thought I had on the food drop was maybe it was dropped from a blimp. They can run almost completly silent, and unless you knew to look for it, it would be almost inpossible to see in the sky at night especially on a deserted island in the middle of the southpacific with no light pollution.

  21. lostpodcast says:

Oo I liked that Idea Ed. Blimp makes total sense. I cant give you a tally, but I can give you 50 thousand gold flaky stars. 😉

  22. Roger says:

Hey guys great show as usual. You glossed over Kate and Sawyer’s little conversation and I think its interesting to note Sawyer wouldn’t tell Kate anything about his conversation with hurley, including Hugo asking for that medication. Him and Ana Lucia seem more likeable these days.

  23. Marc K says:

    Nolan G.

I also saw “the look.” It was so clear when I first saw it. I thought more people would be discussing it. Not sure if she is Darma or not but it seemed to me she really was disgusted by Hurley.

  24. Jay says:

I think the look had to do with the fact that Libby was also in the mental hospital, because remember the actors really dont know the future of their character. They may know about a month in advance to us the viewer. So I think that the look was to show that she too was in the mental hospital, not because she is with Dharma.

    Jay

  25. Wesh says:

Cool episode, though a tad bit predictive, except for the very last part 🙂 Awesome!

yeah Nolan, that look was freaky indeed. I interpreted it as half a lie. Or rather concealment of the truth. If she is indeed mental, then she failed to tell him that, and she hasn’t changed ever since (while preaching all that ‘people can change’).
But i admit that look can be Dharma. Man it sure feels like their building up to a mind boggeling finale.
    w0000t!

  26. Ed: would the GOODYEAR sign on the side of the blimp give away the location? 😉

  27. Nolan G. says:

Thanks guys for the feedback… hmm ya libby might not be dharma but simply a little still crazy and maybe bitter at hurley for something?
Can’t wait to see how it unfolds! But if she is dharma i would like to donate my tally points to jack! =)

  28. coolpaulnyc says:

that mental hospital was a sausage fest. was i the only one who noticed that libby was the only chick patient in that place?

  29. wowzehr…
good ep. but like, more charcter based, and it made me mad that they told us that the island was in Hurley’s head, and then we found out it wasn’t. Idk… maybe im rambeling, but my theroy is Boone is coming back… or maybe im just too obessed with Ian Somerhalder…
not to mention my old theroy that Eric Dill will be making a guest apperance….
Well I think that nobody can die on the island, like in theroy, like since Boone and Shannon have died they have changed people on this island
    not to mention Christan Shpard(sp)

    Peace,
    Amanda

  30. Ed says:

Craig from NJ: Nope, it would have Widmore on the side. 😛

  31. Rick says:

The new $20 bills started circulating as of October 9th 2003. So it is plausable real Henry Gale would have one.

  32. Michael says:

One thing I don’t get is people keep saying that she was looking at Hurley. Didn’t look to me like she was looking at him at all. She was just staring into space.

  33. Mar says:

First time i’ve commented here…glad to see you are using wordpress, btw. 😉

You guys are number 28 in the iTunes Top Podcasts now. Congratz!

  34. Mark says:

Whoops..my name is Mark…I always manage to do something wrong.

  35. utahdave says:

Here is a crackpot theory for you:

In the series finale, we will find out that everything that took place was all in the head of a mental patient.

No, not our beloved Hurley. A bald guy wearing a bathrobe and slippers, who goes by the name of “Dave”.

In Dave’s flashback, we will find out that “Dave” is a name that the patient gave to himself. His true given name was JACK. You see, Jack used to be a normal bald guy who enjoyed wrapping his head around a popular television series and developing crackpot theories which he shared in a fan podcast.

However, his podcast became more popular than he anticipated, and the effect on Jack was tragic. His ego expanded so rapidly, that his psyche created a new personality to try to balance things out. He gave this new personality the name “Dave”, because that is the name that kept coming up for the “coolest” listeners of his podcast.

Eventually, the “Handsome Jack” part of his brain shorted out, and the “Dave” personality was all that was left. His subconcious tried to cope with this by creating a fantasy world in which he controlled all of the characters of his favorite television show. Eventually, he imagined himself interacting with the characters of the show, and trying to convince them that “THEY” were imagining the whole thing.

The saddest part of this tale, is that “Dave” constantly tried to pick up on SuperKate, but she shot him down every time. Even in his own twisted fantasy world, Dave/Jack could not obtain the thing he wanted most.

The final scene of the season finale shows Dave/Jack shaving his bald head in the bathroom while he recites the lyrics to “Zeke the friendly seabilly”. I encourage you to turn on your t.v.’s captions for this scene, however, because he’s hard to understand with all of that peanut butter in his mouth.

Oh by the way, don’t read anything above this line if you don’t want to be spoiled.
