11:30pm on wed.? thanks jay!
my wife read that Judy Blume book recently. i should have her call in to the podcast for monday’s show and tell you all about it.
Aaargh!
My reaction to last night’s episode “The Whole Truth” is that it should have been titled “Treading Water”. We waited three weeks for a new episode that did nothing for moving the storyline ahead.
After “Maternity Leave” the brakes were really applied.
The most exciting part of the hour was the preview of next week’s show.
“The Whole Truth” about what? Not about Jin’s past life. We don’t know what the outcome of her final scene with her English teacher was. How did she get pregnant? Henry Gayle is still Henry Gayle the enigma. (He is devious though!) Sayid and his band never found the balloon.
Hurly has more to eat than just ranch dressing.
And, Kate did look mighty fine!
So, now I wait for some excitement next week!
Oops.
Mixed up the names. Glad it’s Sun who is pregnant and not Jin!
So glad there was finally a new episode to watch last night. It had some very funny moments! I loved seeing Sawyer in the dorky glasses reading the Judy Blume book, just too funny. He is a great character you love to hate! I think Sun might have been impregnated when she was taken by the others.
I was disappointed in last night’s episode. Couple of really funny moments with Charlie and AN but other than that, I was not pleased after waiting so long and having the previous new episodes be so good.
If the preview for next week didn’t look so good I wouldn’t have been so excited about last night. I did expect this episode to be rather bland so there was no surprise.
I have a feeling that the rest of the season is going to be huge and I have a feeling they will end the season with the same type of flashback they ended the first season with, except this time they will not be boarding the plane but showing the reason for the crash.
Reason for crash = season 3 cliff hanger
i am not usually a laugher, when it come to watching tv, but i laught my bottom off, when sawer came up to Bernard and Jin and started to give Jin every fatherly nickname known to man! come on people, this is the first episode of a string of like 9. and we will be getting those nine episodes in the next 10 weeks. that means only one week off. and it will probably be a very interesting Recap episode! Lost, whether it is a “bad” episode or not, is still Lost, which, by default, is better than anything else on tv today!
Colin, i think that the cliffhanger of season 2 finale will be another plane crash, and we will see that the survivors are Mr. Lee, Hellen, Liam, Brian, Gordy, Starla and Hurley’s skinny Friend!
and so on !
@JAY: Glad your safe and fine after the crash. Was the car that you hit a gold bonneville by any chance?
@RALPH: lol, I can see the plane crashing as a possibility but not those people on it. That would be a good way of showing how everyone else arrived on the island.
I must say the podcasts are wonderful. I am amazed at how well put together they are and so immediate. I was thinking that the pregnancy test may have came from Anna Lucia’s bag, since she was pregnant before.
Just my little 2 cents. Love the site and the podcasts. Keep up the great work.

Just a thought on the pregnancy test – everyone assumed it was on the plane. It could have been in the Hatch. Remember all of the medical supplies – whether they came from the plane or were there before – were taken by Sawyer – so it’s possible that the test was already on the isalnd. It would make sense if the “two” who were supposed to be pushing the button for the DHARMA initiative were a male/female duo or married couple.
Just a thought π
@ Colin. seriously though, what else would make you freak out all summer long, other than All the Flashbackies showing up on the Island?
My mini crackpot theory – Maybe Sun is pregnant with Michael’s baby. They did have those few “intense” moments in the beginning of season 1. You never know…
Good character development episode, and good set-up for the race to the finish. LOST does this often after a show that gives a lot of info like “Maternity Leave” did. This is why LOST is so good. It is both great drama AND great sci-fi.
@Colin: You know it was a gold car, but it was a saturn. There wasn’t much left of it though.
Jay
How long has it been since Jin returned to the island (from being caught by the tail section people after being on the raft)? It seems like a long time for us but it can’t be more than a couple weeks at the most. So I don’t think Sun would be having symptoms just yet from pregnancy. I think that Jack’s comment about a “false negative” on a pregnancy test is common in the first week, but a “positive is a positive.” So is he assuming that she would have concieved since Jin got back? If so, no symptoms yet I would not think. So my guess is she was pregnant before crashing on the island. They have been on the island about 2 months now, right? About time that she would be having the symptoms she is having. If things were not going well with Jin before the flight, and she was thinking about leaving him, I would not imagine that they would have that great of a sex life. Who knows though? So my theory is that she did have an affair and figures that there is no point to tell Jin and cause problems if they are just going to be stuck on the island.
I don’t mean to rush you guys, but when will the *.MP3 version of your latest show be available?
Life and Death seems to be one of the Main Themes of Lost. if you watch the episode where Sayid Buries Shannon, that scene happens right after Jin emerges from Sun’s tent. remember, when Hurley gives Jin a thumbs up? so i believe that Jin is the Father. it was another case of Death and Rebirth!
I just wanted to mention that the song Locke was listening to is a real song from the late 60s called “Pushin’ Too Hard” by a group called The Seeds not Geronimo Jackson. Even though the lyrics are about a loose girl, the part of the song they choose to play on the show I thought was very appropriate to Locke’s mental state of late and his relationship with Jack. Here are the lyrics to the part we heard on the show.
You’re pushin’ too hard, uh-pushin’ on me
You’re pushin’ too hard, uh-what you want me to be
You’re pushin’ too hard about the things you say
You’re pushin’ too hard every night and day
You’re pushin’ too hard
Pushin’ too hard on me (too hard)
@Heather: I was kind of thinking the same thing – about the timing of Sun’s “pregnancy” – but I also think that somehow the island speeds those things up – when it comes to kids – I am thinking it’s part of the “Vaccination” – and maybe the “sickness”.
Just a thought.
I have a theory and then a back up theory regarding SunΓ’β¬β’s pregnancy. Firstly the mysterious power of the island could have cured Jin and a natural miraculous pregnancy could be occurring. However, Sun might be coming down with the mysterious sickness that is rumored on the island. The pregnancy test could be a fake planted by Dharma. If the whole thing is a social experiment it would be very interesting to give Jin the promise of a child only for it to be taken away either by sickness or by a real abduction by the Others.
Whats the wildmore stuff?

Great show guys…
jesus, it took 5 minutes of you clowns babbling nonsense and lame jingles to get to anything about the tv show. another 28 minutes of babbling and trudging through an un-needed recap, and we’re 34 minutes into a podcast where we’ve heard unfunny jokes and personal stories, nsync jingles, and a way too long recap of something we’ve already seen. all this crap is almost as long as the actual show itself. please cut down the recaps and the lame attempts at being comedians.
how about you guys keep doing what you are doing?!?!
i enjoyed the show!
Hmm
I was wondering what it said on the box of Dharma Cerial, if anyone has it on tape, could they get a screenshot? It didn’t look like english when I saw it π
Hi guys great podcast. And way to go having up so soon after the episode aired. I was able to download it here in Hawaii as soon as I finished watching the new episode. Nice catch on the Widmore labs thing, I totally missed that.
If its alright with Jack, I’d like to submit a Crackpot theory for the season finale. In case you didn’t know, Hawaii has been getting hit by torrential rains and flooding for the past three weeks. According the weather reports, we are going to be hit by another big storm in the coming week. One of the places here that has been hit pretty bad is Mokuleia on the north side of Oahu, which is where they film a lot of the camp and jungle scenes. The weather here has been so bad, that I don’t see how they could possibly film around it. Because of this, I am predicting that a hurricane or severe storm will hit the island during or in an episode preceding the season finale.
@Troystory3: Good theory!!!
Great podcast as always, guys.
Regarding Sun and the prego test: If she was lying to Jin about not being with another man, then I believe the pregnancy test could have been hers. That could explain why she assumed that Sawyer would have one at all. Remember, she was ready to leave Jin forever right before they boarded the plane.
Jay&Jack: Just wondering, what is the cause of the dealy in getting the .mp3 format podcast posted? I listen on my computer at work, so I have to wait for the .mp3 each time. I do appreciate you getting it done so quickly after the episode, though!
The delay is that the software that I use to record the podcast is to make AAC chapter enabled podcasts. So after recording and making the chapters, and making the pics. The program then exports the show in the AAC format the process of exporting alone can take up to an hour. not to mention the other 4 to 5 hours of recording, editing, matsering, and uploading just the AAC show to our server for you to download.
After this process i then need to go back and convert the AAC show into a mp3 format this takes about 10-15, then I need to go through an additional hour or so of uploading the mp3 into two different servers (one for the LPN, and one for our original mp3 feed) then post the mp3 in there appropriate feed, and test them all to make sure they are working.
Why is there sometimes a longer delay? Well when we do our show after a new episode we record the show right after the new ep, and I dont get done with all of those processes for the AAC format until 2-3am eastern. By this time I am tired and I can’t stay awake any longer to get the MP3’s going. So I have to doit the next day. When I get time away from work, and college.
So that is the reason for the delay, sometimes I can get the mp3 like an hour after the AAC, but it can take longer.
Thanks
Jay
does that mean that you have to listen to each show like 4 times?
Thanks Jay. Like I said, I don’t mean to rush you guys, I just got to feed my Jay and Jack fix, you know. :^)
Your show rocks. Keep up the good work.

As a follow up to my previous post.. I e-mailed the latest incarnation of The Seeds and they had no idea that the song “Pushin’ TooHard” was featured in Lost. Check out:

for more details!
I know we were supposed to be looking for that Widmore Construction sign in Charlie’s flashback. I’ve gone through the entire episode and haven’t found it. Can you tell me what scene it follows or precedes or SOMETHING? Thanks.
Brian – it’s right after Liam falls through the bars of the playpen and the director has had enough – after they open the door of the studio to go outside – you can see the building – but the sign is barely visible. Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse – gave the clue in their podcast just before that episode and then appologized for no one actually being able to see it – they gave up the “Widmore Construction” name in the following podcast.
Its on the pics on this post. Its the building with the sign squared off
