Listener Lost Podcast (AAC): Ep. 1.7
In this Seventh Installment of the Listener Lost Podcast. We get down to business and discuss a lot of listener feedback. We don’t get a listener theory of the week, since we had one on monday, but each bit of listener feedback on this episode is LTOTW caliber. Oh and Jack still hasn’t finished his song….feel free to slam him here.Listener Lost Podcast (AAC): Ep. 1.7.m4aPics for the mp3 usersPart of Sam’s Call:Is the guy Ana Lucia shot really the same guy in Sawyers flashback in “The Long Con”?

why do people name their dogs, Ralph?
that name is for people.
jay and jack,
please keep drinking that Charlie Water! this episode was really good, and felt like the Jay and Jack i grew to love.
Sorry Ralph, Before we started recording Jay and I were talking about meeting up with you at the comic-con. So when Jay started the show off talking about last night Lost episode he caught me off guard, so when of one us mentioned the dog your name poped in my head.
If I buy you two beers will that make up for it?
Jack
jay and jack,
i was thinking about the show when i remembered the original version of the movie “the flight of the pheonix”. in that movie the people that were stranded tried to build an airplane out of parts provided by an already broken apart airplane. later on in the movie it was discovered that they had in fact died and were all ghosts. they experienced lifelike struggles just like the struggles the folks on the island are having.
my theory is that the folks on the island are also having a similar experience, and could be dead. it is very unlikely that the airplane would have broken into three pieces, and over 60 people survive. this could explain some of the outrageous stuff we see on the show.
last night i saw the pilot episode rerun. i noticed that shannon thought that the “black box” would help the rescue team locate them. this is wrong in so many ways. the “black box” as it is refered to is actually orange, and it it in the shape of a clylinder. it is in fact called a flight data recorder. it is made out of an incredibly strong alloy.
kate showed jack where the plane was and said she saw smoke coming form the cockpit. this is also another false topic because there is no fuel in the foward section of any commercial aircraft.
when they did get to the cockpit i also noticed that the transciever was in fact just a police/ air band scanner.
i know it seems a little loopy, but i just wanted to share my ideas. you guys are great in place of the transmission podcast. keep it up and dont drink too much charlie water.
thanks,
paul,
olathe kansas.
that was’t a burn on you LJ, i just find it strange when people name their dog’s people names. i just think that dogs should have dog names, and people should have people names. no offense taken!
I don’t see any problem with the names people give dogs. They all seem fine to me.
My response is that people in general are strange and like using people names for dogs. I guess I’m a real weirdo because I almost named my dog Ralph.
i did tell my wife, that if we end up getting a dog, i get to name it. see i am not super fired up on dogs, so the compromise is this. She gets a shnauser, like she wants, and i get to name it Hans Gruber. i know this is a human name, but having a dog named Hans Gruber would be, the bee’s knees!
[Insert slamming of Jack for not finishing his song here]
Where’s the MP3 version link on The LOST podcasting Network Site??? I’m dying here.
Maybe Jack is holding out for a certain Gin Soaked Bass player to offer his services?????
Just steal the tune to “Happy Jack” by The Who and change the lyrics for God’s sake.
Handsome Jack might be bald but he’s still a man
He coaches hockey and works on his tan
His kid tries to sing and he hits the wrong key
They record podcasts and drink the Water of Charlie.
OK – maybe not the greatest lyrics – but it’s an attempt to goad Jack into the higher realms of musicianship.
Just a thought.

As far as dog names go – I have had two dogs – one I had pre-named “Rasputin” – because I wanted the little dog that I knew that myself and my girlfriend at the time would have to have a BIG name. He turned out to be a half Chihuahua – half something else who looked like a miniature fox. My second – also a little one – I had no name for until – in the store that my fiance owned at the time – he decided to just stop eating in the back room and pee on the floor – she grabbed him up real quick – but he just kept peeing – so of course he name became “Whizzer” – but it also fir because this half Jack Russel Terrior – half Dachshund (sp) would just go off and whiz – running – around the house.
Uncle Igmar – impatient much? A comment in the last post wanting today’s podcast, and then one in this one asking for the mp3 version? They’ll get it online as soon as they can! Just relax!
Hans Gruber? I guess you are a fan of DIE HARD.
Great episode.
BTW, Jay and Jack, the comedian you guys were thinking of was Jim Breuer.
Pertaining to the question of whether Walt will be back by the end of this season, this little diddy is from spoilefix.com and credited to USA Today:
Lost star Harold Perrineau (Michael) […], as curious as Lost viewers about the fate of young actor Malcolm David Kelley (Michael’ son, Walt), recently asked producers what’s up. They told him, “Wait until Season 3.”
Another great podcast guys…im gonna have to agree and say there is an underwater hatch because that cable comes from somewhere and im in the mind that theres an entrance on the island or you have to swmin out to it…either way im sure there is one and also maybe when the boat came to take walt that the boat came from there….anyway great work as always

hi guys, for some reason my itunes isn’t downloading the new podcast even though it’s been available since yesterday apparently.. anyway, hope to be able to hear it soon.. cheers! cristina
Hey Jay and Jack…
Just had to comment about Jack’s Olympic Rant.
I know the NHL is committed to the 2010 games in Vancouver, but I have a feeling that will be the last time for the NHL’ers and Jack will get his wish.
Because the Basketball is a summer Olympic sport, I think you will always see the NBA players playing as the season is not interrupted.
Baseball is still an Olympic sport, at least in the rest of the world. The USA didn’t qualify for 2004 in Athens.
Oh and I love the lost comments too. Jack you sold me on the underwater hatch.
Keep up the good work.
