Not a big deal probably but I noticed that on the military video that they show Sayid regarding the gas, the file number on the video is 23108-42 as in 23 108 42. It was also courtesy of DIA which may stand for Dharma Initiative something. Keep it up guys.

Wow! I haven’t listened to the podcast yet (Cannot believe it’s out already, were you guys up all night or something?), but I really liked this episode. Love that Sayid is “the torturer.” I’d say he’s the “truth-getter.”

As for getting the episode up so early. We record after the episode and I am up till about 2am to 3am to get the show out at around 2-3am eastern. Which is cool because the podcast will be up right after the episode for people in Hawaii.

i am good with film music, and i cannot place the music you played at the end of the show….oh yeah. dont hate on jack. we listen to both of you, and love you as a team. please dont censor or put down, one half of the greatest podcast team out there! i would prefer if you enjoyed each other’s company, and were not at each other’s throat.

I have a theory that the whole show is based on one person. Which one we don’t know, and that all of the characters are parts of one person. The main character is actually a person with multiple persoanlity disorder who is having all his personalities integrated into one. The black smoke is the death/integration of that personality. “The others” are the dominate persoanlities. If you notice, it seems that all the characters are linked together in some way. I could be that all these memories of actually of one physical person, which supports my theory.
Jay, just in case we don’t say it enough, thanks for all the hard work on the podcast. I am regularly up until 2am every night (baby girl), so I am up listneing to your podcasts then. I can feel for what the lack of sleep does.

Love your podcast! Actually, I hated it the first time I listened to it. I was like, “uh, who the hell are these guys and why do they keep veering off topic?”. But, now, I am hooked and think the other podcasts are boring concerned to your. Yours is the only one I laugh out loud to.
Two comments on the episode. I think Ana Lucia listened to Sayid because she had just killed his girlfriend. I don’t think she really wants to piss him off anymore. Also, Henry Gale is the name of Dorothy’s uncle on The Wizard of Oz (in which, of course, a hot air baloon was prominently featured).

The hieroglyphics have been confirmed, if you did not see this yet. The whole (all 5 glyphs) represent the Egyptian word “swd” which is the causitive case of the word die. It could be read as “you will die.” Here’s the pic

last week when jack wasnt talking enough during the podcast, jay said he was like a stone wall. also i have heard jay call jack “jackson”. and i noticed jay briefly noted how quiet jack was during a part of this episode. i propose that at these times in the future, that jack should be referred to as “stonewall jackson”.

My contribution: if you remember on the http://www.oceanic-airlines.com site, you could rearrange Ethan Rom’s name to spell “other man.” My friend figured out that if you rearrange Henry Gale Minnesota, it spells “see an other man lying.”

Interesting that we got just about an all male episode. I wonder if what goes on in “Maternity Leave” happens in the same time frame as what “One of Them” happens.
I’m kind of leaning towards the fact the “CIA” operative directing the interrogations might be “Mr. Friendly.” His voice sounded familiar and his eyes looked the same.

I tried to get the mp3 version via jayandjack.blogspot, but the linked page was not found (404 error).
30+ minutes on the episode recaps? Way too much time spent on those. If we’re listening to the podcast, more than likely we’ve already seen the show, and those who haven’t seen it yet would probably rather see the actual thing instead of a long, boring recap of it.
The CIA operative is definitely not Mr. Friendly (Zeke). The guy who plays the CIA operative is the voice beind “Mr. Crabs” of Spongebob Squarepants. I’d remember if Zeke was the same guy. π
